VW T4 Eurovan won't start due to gear selector? This could get you home.
I am NO mechanic!!! Use info at own risk! 2001 Volkswagen Eurovan VR6 Automatic wouldnt start due to gear selector interlock. I accidentally found you can bypass the interlock by opening the relay 175 case and making a connection manually which starts the car so long as key is in start position and gets you home . Culprit was faulty gear selector module on the side of the transmission.
