During my trip to Brazil, I had the opportunity to get behind the wheel of two unique off-road machines that were built specifically for the Brazilian market: the legendary Toyota Bandeirante and the rare Ford-powered Troller T4. The Toyota Bandeirante may look like a classic Land Cruiser FJ40, but under the hood sits a 3.9L Mercedes-Benz OM364 turbo diesel engine producing incredible torque and reliability. We take a close look at its mechanical PTO winch capable of pulling up to 12 tons, massive 37-inch tires, air lockers, upgraded axles, and serious off-road modifications designed for extreme trails. Then we move over to a pristine 2017 Troller T4, a Brazilian-built off-roader powered by a 3.2L 5-cylinder Ford diesel engine producing 200 horsepower. Built using many Ford Ranger components, this rare vehicle combines modern comfort with serious off-road capability. This wasn't just a vehicle review. It was a chance to experience two pieces of Brazilian automotive history that most enthusiasts outside South America will never see in person.
