What if Melee had EVEN LESS dev time?

The most cursed timeline. Lucas instead of Ness. No Fire Emblem characters. Game & Watch cut. No clones. Only 16 characters (17 including Sheik) and only 17 stages. Today we explore what Melee could have been like in alternative universe where HAL Laboratory and Sakurai only had 8 months of development instead of the 13 months they had (which was already cutting it close). This video is just speculative, but uses some information we do have about which characters were prioritized, early versions of stages seen at Spaceworld and E3 2001, and some unused assets like the early title screen.
