Former Koboko district woman MP, Margaret Baba Diri, laid to rest

President Yoweri Museveni has mourned former Koboko District Woman MP, Margaret Baba Diri, describing her as a selfless leader and dedicated servant. Baba Diri passed away on January 9, 2025, in Kawempe, Kampala, after 25 years of service in Parliament. In a eulogy by Vice President Jessica Alupo, Museveni highlighted her advocacy for persons with disabilities and her contributions as an educator, social worker, and activist. Thousands gathered at Our Lady of Fatima Koboko Catholic Parish to honor her legacy as a mentor, pan-Africanist, and advocate for girl-child education.
