Scania R 460 Super: gasta poco… pero tiene un problema
We tested the Scania R 460 Super on a real-world route with almost 44 tons… and the final fuel consumption surprised me quite a bit. In this video, I get behind the wheel of a new-generation Scania R 460 Super for the first time to drive a round trip between Madrid and Zaragoza, passing through a well-known area in the transport world: the El Navarro restaurant. The idea was clear: to put the truck to real work, with weight, road conditions, wind, rain, hills, and a typical trucker's day, to see what kind of fuel consumption this Scania can achieve under normal working conditions. On the outbound leg, we were practically fully loaded, with a combined weight of around 43,600 kg, so it wasn't exactly an easy route for achieving good fuel economy. Even so, the Scania R 460 Super demonstrates that it's very well-engineered in terms of efficiency, hill handling, and cruise control. In the video, I discuss my driving experience, how the engine responds, how the retarder works, how it handles with a heavy load, and what differences I notice compared to other trucks I've driven. We also see several details of the new Scania cab: the digital instrument cluster, the central screen, some changes to the buttons, the lighting system, the warnings, the blind spot indicator, and several things I like… and others I don't. Because yes, the truck drives very smoothly, but there are also areas for improvement, especially the seat, which isn't exactly the most comfortable for a long day. One of the most interesting points in the video is the final fuel consumption. After completing the route, with a full load going one way and a much lighter load returning, the Scania averaged 27.2 liters per 100 km. A very good figure considering the weight, the route, the weather, and the actual driving conditions. But it's not all perfect: we also analyzed AdBlue consumption, which drops considerably during the trip and raises an important question: does the high AdBlue cost really compensate for such significant fuel savings? If you're into trucks, real-world routes, road transport, fuel consumption tests, Scania, DAF, MAN, Iveco, or simply want to know what a trucker's daily life is like, you'll enjoy this video. Let me know in the comments what you think is a good fuel consumption for a truck like this and if you would choose this Scania R 460 Super for everyday work. If you liked the video, subscribe to the channel, give it a like, and we'll see you on the next route with the next truck. #Scania #ScaniaR460Super #Trucks #Truckers #Transport #TruckRoute #TruckFuelConsumption #AdBlue #Trucker #TransportSpain
