I tried to get my Hyundai Creta out of a deep snowdrift. The car has a simple configuration: a 1.6-liter engine, front-wheel drive, 123 hp, and an automatic transmission. It had non-studded winter tires. Under these conditions, I drove into deep snow and attempted to extricate myself. The main challenge was to avoid excessive and prolonged wheel spin, as this is detrimental to the automatic transmission and can lead to overheating and accelerated wear. Therefore, it was important to proceed carefully, not to accelerate abruptly or dig the car deeper into the snow. I had to try various techniques: changing driving modes, gently rocking the car back and forth, and using momentum to coast out of the snow. This approach minimized wheel spin and reduced the strain on the transmission.
