La Grotta di Nettuno - 652 gradini per entrare nella meraviglia

A place worth seeing at least once in a lifetime to truly admire its beauty and charm. Located on the northwestern slope of the Capo Caccia promontory, among cliffs overlooking the sea, Neptune's Grotto is one of the most fascinating natural jewels in the Mediterranean. Inside, alternating chambers, galleries, tunnels, and majestic stalagmites and stalactites are surrounded by the clear waters of Lake Lamarmora, one of the largest inland saltwater lakes in Europe. The tourist itinerary extends for a few hundred meters thanks to a path carved along the side ridge of the cave, which leads visitors to the upper rooms of the various chambers. Access to the Grotto is by land via the famous "Escala del Cabirol" (Roe Deer Staircase): 654 steps reveal the breathtaking view overlooking the sea and reaching down to the heart of the earth, where the azure sea of Alghero and the sky meet in an embrace on the horizon. During the summer months, Neptune's Grotto can also be reached by sea via boats departing daily from the Catalan city's marina or, upon request, from the Cala Dragunara pier in Porto Conte.
