Kuwait is a small country located on the Arabian Peninsula. Its capital is Kuwait City and it is located in the east of the Arabian Peninsula, on the coast of the Persian Gulf. The country is known for its rich oil reserves and its economy is largely based on the energy sector. Kuwait has a population of Sunni and Shia Muslims, the main sects of Islam. While the country preserves its traditional Arab culture, it has also given importance to modernization efforts. It attracts attention with its modern infrastructure, luxury shopping malls and skyscrapers. Adherence to Islamic culture is a part of daily life in the country. Fasting during Ramadan strengthens solidarity in society. There are many museums and historical sites about Kuwait's rich history and culture. However, there are also some difficulties in political and social issues in Kuwait. Monarchy rule is closed to criticism and freedom of expression is limited. Additionally, there are tensions between some ethnic and religious groups in the country.
