How to open a Locked up EV Rider Automatic Folding Scooter With a Dead Battery

A customer dropped off their EV Rider Transporter Auto Folding mobility scooter with a dead battery that wouldn't charge. Because the battery was dead and the scooter was in the folded position he couldn't remove and replace the battery because he had no way of opening the scooter. With a bit of an inspection and trial and error I managed to figure out how to unlock it so he can replace his battery.
