Hey Music Junkies, it’s been a rough year. We’ve lost a lot of legends. First Brian Wilson. Then Ozzy in the Summer, and then recently we lost Ace Frehley. Ace was a guitar player who influenced more great bands and songs than you could ever calculate. His influence is incomparable in Hard Rock, and he didn’t really get that credit. I was honored to spend well over an hour with him a short time ago, picking his brain and getting the history behind his incredible contributions and I’ve only ever shared about 10 minutes of this uncut interview. By my account, it’s the last detailed interview that he did and covers the best of his time with Kiss and his solo records, including New York Groove that the other guys in Kiss gave him a hard time when all the members of Kiss were doing solo albums, and in the end Ace outsold them all. It’s a great insight into Ace as one of the most influential guitarists in rock history and an all-around good guy.
