You'll want to start with some basic assessment techniques to test the range of movement and reproduce the symptoms. This is especially important as shoulder pain can come from a number of sources so you want to identify whether it's subscapularis, anterior deltoid, or the long head of biceps. Treatment starts with a broad approach across the whole anterior shoulder. This is one of those times when you can give your fingers and thumbs the day off; a bit of grippy massage cream like Premax and your lower forearm is often enough to engage with digital ischemic pressure and address the trigger point.
