Baking local bread under the ashes A peaceful day for Zeinab and Zahra in the heart of the mountains

In this episode of the real life of Zainab, a nomadic mother, and her daughter Zahra, you will see the cameraman who is documenting their lives bring them some flour. Zainab happily thanks them for this kindness and says that they spent last night in this small house in peace and no one bothered them. After that, Zainab and Zahra clean the inside of the house, sweep the floor and tidy up the environment for the start of a new day. Then Zainab lights a fire with firewood and puts the kettle on the fire to brew fresh tea. Today, a simple but traditional meal is to be prepared. To bake gray bread (local pollen), Zainab first mixes the flour with water, adds a little salt to it and kneads the dough well with her hands for a few minutes until it is ready to bake. Then she forms the dough into thick, round loaves and bakes them in the traditional way, under ashes and hot coals. The aroma of fresh bread prepared in this old-fashioned way fills the small house, reminding us of the simplicity and authenticity of nomadic life.
