Cast Iron Bed Restoration | Antique trash to treasure!

This is the story of how we took a pair of neglected antique cast iron bed frames and gave them a complete transformation! I have been sharing our home here on YouTube for a couple of years now, and on occasion I will get an offhand comment or mean message regarding the 'bareness' of our interior. They will say that our home looks bland, cold, or empty. And, while a person could easily be offended by such remarks - we know that there is a reason that our home wasn't immediately filled with furniture and decor as soon as we got the keys to move in. We are of the mindset that we want our home to be a reflection of our family, and filled with items that have special meaning to us. We aren't looking for a cookie cutter magazine spread look. Instead, we prefer the 'collected' look. The antique bed frames are the perfect representation of this mindset. Rescued from a barn, they came to us full of rust and peeling paint. But, they were sturdy, and knew that with a little bit (okay, maybe a lot) of elbow grease they would be perfect for our daughter's bedroom. Craig made it his mission to bring the iron beds back to life - and after hours upon hours of sanding and painting, he did just that!
