The Artist Who Turned Schizophrenia Into a Creative Method | with Linda Sibio (Pt 2)
She left Los Angeles after a nervous breakdown that lasted seven years. She moved into a desert house with no heat and no water. And she started drawing her hallucinations. Those drawings became Cracked Eggs. In Part 2 of my conversation with Linda Carmella Sibio... artist, performer, educator, and founder of Bezerk Productions... we get into what happened after the bright lights of LA: the breakdown, the desert, the single student who showed up for a year before anyone else did, and the slow, patient building of a program that now holds a $1.5 million county grant and is the subject of an upcoming documentary film. We also talk about: • What the first session of Cracked Eggs actually looks like and why she never tells participants it's going to help their mental health • Why movement and voice are harder to teach than painting • The COVID year they all worked without pay • The mental health coloring book See, See, See, More! Listen with Your Eyes • The neuroscience study she wants to do to understand whether it's her teaching or the exercises themselves that are changing people • Her sister accidentally losing her entire New York body of oil paintings and the oil painting she just finished last month • What she would tell the eighteen-year-old who just received her diagnosis Her answer to that last question is three words: "Never give up." 📌 This episode is unedited — intentionally. Linda's pauses, fragments, and tangents are the methodology in action. What you're hearing is the real Linda Sibio. 🫙 ABOUT INSIDE THE PICKLE JAR Inside the Pickle Jar is hosted by Tonya Weaver — executive coach, ICF-credentialed, and proud member of the neurodivergent community.
