Super Cross Country Part 2 - Columbus to Chicago, ATC Pushes Route Into the Storms

On this 2nd day leg from Columbus Ohio to Chicago, there was a band of thunderstorms crossing my path. ATC kept asking me if I was going direct to Chicago Executive and I kept telling them I was unable to do so and I was flying according to my plan. The lesson I learned here was stick to my plan, and make ATC work for me!
