London Underground Guard-Central Line 1994

A slightly different upload now, one showing the the duties of a London Underground Guard. Until 1984 all Underground lines had guards apart from the Victoria which opened as an automaticaly operated line from the start. In 1984 LT started to convert lines to OPO starting with the Hammersmith Met Line and finishing in 2000 with the Northern. The penultimate line to convert was the Central and we see here a Leytonstone Guard changing ends at Hainault and performing his duties at Fairlop, Barkingside and Mile End. We see various bits of equipment in use in the Guards Gangway, a couple of 'mind the doors' (anyone remember hearing that at stations back in the day?) and one of the most important jobs of making the tea!!! So sit back and enjoy a nice rattlely ride on a 62 stock. If you liked the video please subscribe to my channel, there are lots more transport & quirky vids to upload!
