Dr. BV Doshi delivers a special lecture at IIMB on Aug 11, 2014.
Dr. Balkrishna Doshi, the architect of the IIMB campus, has been conferred the Padma Bhushan, the third-highest civilian award in the Republic of India given for distinguished service of high order. The Government of India announced the list of awardees on the eve of Republic Day. Dr. Doshi attributes his work at IIM Bangalore as an essential part of his journey. “This building is a tribute to stone; it is a perfect blend of concrete and stone that creates the feel of a semi-transparent screen allowing light and breeze to enjoy free flow,” observed Dr. B V Doshi, the master architect of IIMB, who was re-visiting his masterpiece on the evening of August 11, 2014.
