Dumping (And Playing) LeMans Ultimax Cartridge on the Commodore 64 (Part 1)

1982's LeMans racing game for the Commodore 64 is one of my all-time favourite cartridges, though it has a quirk that's always puzzled me. I'd like to disassemble the code for the game to figure out what's really going on, but my Super Snapshot machine language monitor isn't compatible with cartridge games. So I'd like to dump the cartridge ROM to a disk file, but that's especially tricky with these UltiMax mode cartridges.
