Bolton Steam Museum - Autumn Steamings 2023
My visit to the Bolton Steam Museum for their 'Autumn Steamings' weekend on Saturday 28th October 2023. The museum is run by the Northern Mill Engine Society - or NMES for short. NMES was formed in 1966 by a small but extremely dedicated band of enthusiasts who decided that something had to be done to preserve the steam engines from the textile industries of Lancashire and Yorkshire before they were all scrapped. The museum is a fascinating place and gives a flavour of when the north of England really was the 'Northern Powerhouse'. Click on the following link for the website of the NMES which gives the full history of the society and the engines featured in this video: https://www.nmes.org/
