STREET FOOD & OSAKA TOWER: Shinsekai Japan 🇯🇵

Shinsekai (literally meaning "New World") is a famous, retro-futuristic downtown entertainment district located in southern Osaka, Japan, known for its vibrant neon signs, street food culture, and early 20th-century nostalgia. Created in 1912, its northern half was structurally modeled after Paris, while its southern half took inspiration from New York's Coney Island. Today, it offers a gritty, joyful, and highly photogenic atmosphere that stands out as one of Osaka's most eccentric and culturally rich tourist destinations. The centerpiece of the neighborhood is the 108-meter-tall Tsutenkaku Tower, originally built in 1912 and inspired by Paris's Eiffel Tower. Visitors can take an elevator to the observation decks to see a statue of Billiken, the smiling god of good fortune, and enjoy panoramic views of the city.
