With the theme “Chi Lang Custard Apple Specialties – Enhancing Brand, Sustainable Development”, the 3rd Chi Lang Custard Apple Festival in 2019 gathered many booths displaying agricultural products of organizations and enterprises inside and outside the province; booths of communes and towns in custard apple production areas and districts and cities in Lang Son province. Speaking at the opening of the Festival, Chairman of the People's Committee of Chi Lang district Dinh Huu Hoc said: Taking advantage of the many rocky hills, many farming households in Chi Lang district have actively planted and cared for custard apple trees in the direction of clean and safe agriculture, thereby increasing the value and yield of custard apples year by year. The agricultural sector of Lang Son province also actively guides custard apple growers to properly follow tree care procedures to create clean custard apple products, ensuring food hygiene and safety. Currently, the total custard apple growing area of ​​Chi Lang district is over 1,600 hectares. Of which, over 190 hectares are grown according to VietGAP standards and 5 hectares according to GlobalGAP standards. The estimated custard apple output is 16,000 tons/year, bringing in an economic value of over 650 billion VND/year. The 3rd Chi Lang Custard Apple Festival in 2019 is a continuation of the success of previous ones. Through the festival, we aim to contribute to protecting, enhancing the reputation, maintaining the brand of Chi Lang custard apple products and local agricultural products that have been granted the label of safe products, VietGAP standards, GlobalGAP, organic agriculture... This is also an opportunity to promote and connect the consumption of specialty agricultural products and tourism products of Lang Son province in general and Chi Lang district in particular. At the Festival, visitors can enjoy a unique traditional art performance, recreating the process of formation, development and building the Chi Lang custard apple brand. The Organizing Committee honored outstanding individuals, households and businesses in the production, care and consumption of custard apples and agricultural products according to VietGAP standards and safe agriculture; awarded model custard apple gardens and the "Farmer Competition" award and beautiful display booths. Along with that was the Announcement Ceremony and the Award of Collective Trademark Certificates for two products: Huu Kien White Horse and Khai Bo Vegetable of Chi Lang District. To continue introducing the potential and promoting the custard apple brand to help consumers identify Chi Lang custard apple products as well as find partners, sign contracts to consume custard apple products and agricultural products of Lang Son province, from August 16 to 21, at the Exhibition Fair, Economic and Trade Transactions (No. 489, Hoang Quoc Viet Street, Cau Giay, Hanoi), there will also be a Promotion Week combined with a forum for the production and consumption of Chi Lang custard apples and agricultural products and specialties of Lang Son province.
