But we really don't want people to have bad experiences, so we can't recommend the bad ones 😅 Actually, we usually start by looking at introductions on Xiaohongshu (Little Red Book). If we see something interesting, we'll message them to ask about the itinerary and price. Of course, we'll ask two or three agencies to see if their responses are clear enough! This time, we encountered a company whose marketing video was very well-made. (Compared to another company we contacted), their sales staff were quite proactive in responding to our quotes. They said they were okay with all the information we needed, and would provide it after we inquired, or they would just say "inquiry in progress"... They kept dragging it out until the end of the trip, and since we had already paid, there was nothing we could do. Through this experience, we realized that people traveling from other provinces in China might encounter similar situations. The tour guide doesn't know the itinerary arranged by the travel agency until the tourists have paid. Because travel agencies don't employ their own guides, they subcontract the trips to tour guide companies. Therefore, the guide only cares about completing their assigned task; they don't care about whether you sleep well, whether there are any problems with the room, etc. They only care about completing today's itinerary!
