Of course, that's what people shout about on social media, but the real stories are more nuanced. In this video, Ronnie examines five underexposed aspects of entrepreneurship, from the illusion of freedom to the mental resilience needed to persevere. "With growth and success comes responsibility and therefore a limitation on your freedom," says Ronnie. Because the better things go, the more you have on your plate: customers, employees, finance, continuity. These are all things you can no longer blame on your boss. Taxes also prove to be a common pitfall. "They're incredibly predictable, but oh, how they're underestimated," he notes. From sales tax to dividends: without proper planning, you can really get yourself into trouble. Growing pains are another phenomenon that's not discussed enough. More revenue doesn't automatically mean more profit. "Your margins are under pressure, you have to buy more, and you'll incur more costs," Ronnie explains. Furthermore: a good idea isn't the problem; execution and perseverance are. And finally, the mental aspect, the loneliness at the top, and the pressure of making decisions.
