Orienteering at Höst Open 2025 - Sprint in Hasle (Headcam Orienteering)

Welcome to the first day of the orienteering event "Höst Open 2025". This is the first leg - a short, 3km orienteering sprint. We're on the western coastal town Hasle on the island of Bornholm in the Baltic Sea. Rough winds made us hold on to our maps, but fortunately the rain didn't hit the area untill some hours later. The complicated part of this course was the middle section, where runners were challenged by rapid direction changes and only short distances between controls. I lost a few seconds here and there through a bit of hesitation, sloppy map reading and bad route choices - but all in all I couldn't have cut more than a minute off my time. In between there's a small personal duel with Rune from my club. He started 1 minute after me but caught up and got away on the last four controls, but it was a fun litlle battle for the bragging rights which he won.
