Somerset & Dorset Railway October 2019

For this video I have focussed on the conversion of 4F 44560 from analogue to battery operated radio control with sound. The equipment supplied by FOSWORKS. Most helpful people so if you are contemplating radio control do have a chat with Steve. My railway is for the most part analogue with DCC in Midland Bridge yard and at Writhlington Colliery as a test of DCC. Those results have been good but with 50+ locos to convert was too large a project to contemplate. Hence the thinking behind radio battery control for one 4F that is normally diagrammed to Bath Duty 17 – Shunting of the S&D yard and banking of S&D freights up the 1 in 50 of Devonshire Bank. This providing a greater degree of control than previously. Much testing still to go but I am very pleased with the results and delighted with the length that the battery charge lasts. ENJOY
