Truck collision with Desiro train & Towing to Oinoi Station
On July 30, 2024, a truck collided with the train HT 1551, which was operated on the Chalkida-Athens route by a Siemens Desiro train carrying 130 passengers. The truck was driven on the regional road near Glyfa in Evia, when run-off the road, crashed on railway tracks and collided with a passing train of the Hellenic Train operated route from Chalkida to Athens. There were only 3 injuries. The Siemens Desiro train towed to Oinoi Station and few days later transported (with towing) to Thessaloniki Station for repairs. Photos by St. Pi.
