INSTAGRAM:   / gini.ytb   For this last stop on our trip to French Polynesia (after Tahiti, Moorea, and Bora Bora), we're off to discover Huahine… a much wilder, more authentic, and unspoiled island. Day 1: Our first steps on the island include a magnificent beach, snorkeling in crystal-clear water, and discovering local specialties. We also have a wonderful encounter with a local young man who shares a bit about his daily life on the island. Day 2: A lagoon excursion where we go snorkeling, encounter the famous blue-eyed eels, and have lunch on a motu (islet) with our feet in the water, enjoying local dishes prepared right there while our guide sings Polynesian music. A truly unique atmosphere. Day 3: Huahine market and tasting of local specialties (po'e, ipo), followed by a 4x4 excursion through lush vegetation. We discovered the local culture: vanilla plantation, marae (ancient Polynesian sacred sites), an artisan hand-painting pareos… The guide shared many stories about the island and even welcomed us into her home for a cooking session and lunch. Huahine impressed us with its authenticity, tranquility, and rich culture. A different, more secluded island, but definitely worth a visit!
