#5. Mรกs de 50 aรฑos de tradiciรณn: Los Baguales / ๐๐๐๐๐ง๐๐ค ๐๐๐จ๐๐
Interview conducted by Jorge Barberini with Ricardo Pesce, member and leading figure of the Los Baguales Traditionalist Center of Roque Pรฉrez. Through this conversation, Ricardo recounts the history and purpose of this emblematic institution of traditionalist culture. โข Origins (1958 - 1974): The beginnings date back to a pato field promoted by Jorge Molinuevo and Anรญbal Leguizamรณn under the name "Senda y Estrella" (Path and Star). Later, a group of young people, including Ricardo Pesce, began to meet formally in 1974, consolidating the center's committee (03:22 - 06:20). โข Their Own Headquarters: After years of meetings in people's homes and organizing charity events on a shoestring budget, in 1987 the municipality granted Los Baguales the land of the old slaughterhouse, which was transformed and landscaped by the community itself (01:54 - 02:06, 11:47 - 12:40). โข Social Purpose: More than a sports institution, Ricardo emphasizes that Los Baguales functions as a social meeting place. He stresses the importance of hospitality and the "campfire" culture, offering refuge to rural people and pilgrims (15:05 - 16:30, 24:00 - 25:35). โข Traditions and Connections: The center is known for its strong influence on the horseback pilgrimage to the Basilica of Lujรกn (begun in 1976) and for maintaining sisterhood ties with traditionalist centers in other provinces, such as La Pampa and Neuquรฉn (14:15 - 14:21, 26:39 - 28:40). Ricardo Pesce celebrates how, after more than 50 years of volunteer and community work, Los Baguales has remained a bastion for nurturing the soul and traditionalist culture in Roque Pรฉrez.
