All-American heavyweight wrestler Adam Coon met one of the toughest challenges of his athletic career in 2016: a season-ending injury. Adam lost out on his dream to train with Olympic athletes, missed his senior season and had to cope with the tough times that come with recuperating from injury. Adam’s pain went beyond the physical as his identity was stripped away, he felt isolation and helplessness and questioned his self-worth. Once he accepted the process of his rehabilitation, it got easier.
