What happened? On October 10, 2025, eight-year-old Fabian disappeared from Güstrow. After his mother reported him missing that evening, a large-scale search operation was launched. Four days later, the boy was found dead near Klein Upahl. The investigation ultimately led to the arrest of Fabian's father's former partner. The public prosecutor's office accuses her of luring Fabian from the house under false pretenses, driving him to a remote location, and killing him there. The accused denies the allegations or, according to publicly available information, initially made no statement regarding the matter. The presumption of innocence applies until a legally binding court decision is reached. In this article, I summarize the known state of the investigation, the timeline of events, and the information that has been made public.
