I took a day trip to Uji. The scenery overlooking the Uji River is beautiful, as it is the setting of the Tale of Genji. The tea in Uji is really delicious and I was very impressed! It is a little inconveniently located, but I highly recommend the tea and parfait at Matsusakaen Tea Shop! If you are going to Byodoin, it looks beautiful in the morning.
