Episode 8 A hybrid inverter allows for off-grid operation, meaning it's completely disconnected from the power grid. However, in real life, we need to recharge the energy storage. One way is to use the GEN input on the inverter. What does this entail? Is it safe for the equipment? I designed a simple automation system that protects the inverter and the power grid from the effects of potential failures. It protects the APZ switch from excessive wear and tear and also allows for remote control. The system is based on relays and a simple voltage detector. It allows for numerous modifications and expansions depending on your needs. We don't always need complex microcontroller-based systems to ensure proper and safe system operation. This project is a prime example of this.
