This rhyme works really well as a bounce activity. Your lap is a horse and Mother and Father fall off. I like to tilt the child alternatively as we say Mother and Father. Since Uncle John stays on, you just bounce the child, jauntily, on the middle of your lap for his part of the rhyme. "Mother and Father and Uncle John Went to town one by one. Mother fell off.
