MOTEL HELL - The Sketchy History of the Continental Motel
PATREON: www.patreon.com/exploreoregon Opening in the early 1960s the Continental Motel on East Burnside Street in Portland, Oregon was a semi-charming spot to stay if you were in town for a convention it the city’s Rose Festival. But as the 1970s faded away into the 1980s the area around the motel was in a state of deterioration. This set the stage for over a decade of violence at this particular location. This is an installment in my fairly long running series on the sketchy histories of certain locations. And while past videos in this series have mixed the dark elements with the lighthearted, this episode is primarily focused on the darkness. This is the story of the Continental Motel… also well known as “Motel Hell”.
