The Ghost of slumber Mountain (1918) restored hd 720p DVD Quality
The Ghost of Slumber Mountain (1918) The Ghost of Slumber Mountain is a silent short film directed by Willis O’Brien, the pioneer of stop-motion animation who later worked on The Lost World (1925) and King Kong (1933). The film follows a man named Holmes, who tells two young boys about his adventure on Slumber Mountain. He recalls how he encountered the ghost of Mad Dick, a mysterious hermit, who showed him a magical telescope capable of looking into the past. Through the telescope, Holmes witnesses a prehistoric world filled with dinosaurs, including a Triceratops and a fearsome Tyrannosaurus. As his dreamlike journey unfolds, he finds himself face to face with these creatures in an intense and thrilling climax. Originally, The Ghost of Slumber Mountain had a runtime of around 40 minutes, but it was heavily edited down to about 19 minutes for its official release. Much of the original footage, including additional dinosaur scenes and character moments, is now considered lost. However, through restoration efforts, a more complete version has been reconstructed. This restored edition maintains the approximately 19-minute runtime but enhances the visuals and overall viewing experience. Special thanks to "K-Tac" for providing the main film and to "Alex Hagst" for restoring the dinosaur scenes. Their work has helped make this restoration possible, allowing a more complete and visually enhanced version of this early cinematic treasure to be seen today.
