Will Our 1961 VW Bus Run After Rewiring It? | This Project Took a Big Step Forward

The 1961 VW Bus project took a big step forward. In this video, we spent time working through the wiring, lights, turn signals, front floor, steering column, accelerator pedal, and emergency brake setup. After redoing the wiring, the big question was simple: would it run? Spoiler alert, it does. Like most of my classic Volkswagen projects, one job turned into five more. The front floor went in, the steering column needed to be maneuvered and reconfigured, the accelerator pedal and e-brake needed attention, and the parcel tray has to come back out because the gauge wiring still needs to be finished. Found out later that my negative jumper wire was bad. Bought a new kit and it tested well. Lights work and the old wire must have been faulty. It’s hot Florida days, the kind that makes these projects feel a little heavier, but the progress was worth it. The ’61 Bus is getting closer, one job at a time.
