Steam in Romania, 2016 - CFF Viseu de Sus Part 1
The CFF Viseu de Sus forestry railway runs along the beautiful Vaser Valley in the Carpathian mountains in the north of Romania. This 760mm gauge line was probably the last of its kind in the world to regularly use steam power. The steam locomotives are now kept serviceable for tourist trains and charters for railway enthusiasts. My autumn visit to this line was mostly overcast and wet We hoped for snow and sunshine for this winter visit but again there was more rain! The trip was again organised by FarRail Tours. February 2016.
