Scenery and stories from New Orleans's French Quarter riverfront
Take a tour with Andrew: http://calendly.com/andrewfarrier In this video we walk (and occasionally bike) a little over two miles of Mississippi riverfront park, bordering the French Quarter, Central Business District, Marigny, and Bywater. We see riverboats/steamboats side by side with cargo ships, lots of monuments and public art, some springtime greenery, and a few of the many things there are to do along the riverfront. And we hear a steamboat calliope, one of the rarest (and loudest) musical instruments in the world. This area includes the city's original port, and we talk about New Orleans's history as a mega-wealthy port city and how we transitioned to being a tourist destination. If you want to visit these places, you'll find them on maps under several different names - Spanish Plaza, Woldenberg Park, the Moonwalk, Governor Nicholls Park, and Crescent Park (in the order we visit them).
