Take A Look At This Bicycle-Powered Sarucca And Hand-Cranked Trommel That Finds Diamonds In Arkansas

Mark Simpson, a visitor from Nebraska, designed and built this impressive equipment for finding diamonds at Arkansas' Crater of Diamonds State Park. With the help of his family and a friend this party of four quickly process buckets of gravel they dug out of the park's East Drain Area. There are spray bars spewing water in so many places you would think they were hooked up to city water pressure. But, no, all of this water is pumped by a hand crank as the trommel spins and separates gravel according to size. This video includes cameo appearances by fabled diamond finders Bob Horton and Marshall Rieff. Each one has found several hundred diamonds.
