Abarca, who is in constant contact with Daniel Sancho, claims that he told him that he only "wants to cooperate in any way he can with justice" while waiting for him to be brought before a court and for the judge to file charges against him. According to his testimony, Sancho was experiencing "very distressing" situations and "felt like a hostage to Edwin," the man he killed. He told the police that his death was the result of a blow following an argument, although the officers in charge of the investigation suspect it may have been planned. He also claims that Edwin "was obsessed with him" and wanted him "to be his boyfriend." Sancho is currently awaiting court representation while being represented by a public defender, although his parents have already hired a private attorney who has already arrived in the country, and the transfer of powers is still pending.
