Acoustic guitar neck removal Part 1. Julyan Wallis. Guitar Doctor, Cornwall UK.
The problem: Playing action just over 1/8th inch at the 12th fret, should be around 5/64th bass side and 4/64th treble, neck has pulled up since manufactured in 1974. The remedy: Using steam and a jig watch how I remove the neck on an acoustic guitar. The neck will be 're-set' to the correct angle once dried out and the guitar will be playable once more. Of course a re-fret and setup with 'settling in' time is required in order to carry this type of work out properly. Julyan Wallis. www.guitardoctor.co.uk
