XCOM 3 is one of the most anticipated turn-based strategy games we could hope to get - but why haven't we yet? This video discusses some issues XCOM 3 would face, and why it really isn't as simple as it seems on the surface. XCOM is a long running turn-based tactics franchise, and XCOM 2 redefined the genre when it came out in 2016. In fact, modded XCOM 2 continues to be extremely popular to this day. XCOM 3 news has been scarce for some time since Firaxis moved to work on Midnight Suns, and since then XCOM 2 and its modding scene has only continued to get better and better. This, along with some inconsistencies in the XCOM franchise timeline, and where it has been left at, puts XCOM 3 at a strange starting point. Firaxis has also suffered many cutbacks and is focusing hard on the upcoming Civiization VII release.
