Day 3 of the Interstates Championships was all about earning a place on the road to the Asian Games! 🇮🇳 The action began with the Men's Hammer Throw, where Praveen Kumar and Damneet Singh achieved the Asian Games qualification mark. The Men's 110m Hurdles Final produced one of the most dramatic moments of the championships. After three false starts, Tejas Shirse kept his composure, clocked 13.61s, won gold and secured his Asian Games qualification. We also caught up with Tejas & Damneet for exclusive post-event interactions. The excitement continued in the Women's Discus Throw, where Seema claimed gold with a 59m+ throw while Sanya finished with silver. Both athletes also achieved the qualification standard for the Asian Games. The Men's Triple Jump witnessed an incredible performance as six athletes crossed the Asian Games qualification mark, with Praveen Chithravel and Karthik U finishing in the top two positions. The championships ended with thrilling relay action: 🥇 Karnataka won the Women's 4×100m Relay. 🥇 Odisha took the Men's 4×100m Relay. 🥇 Tamil Nadu clinched the Mixed 4×400m Relay in a thrilling finish. We also followed the qualification rounds of the 1500m and 400m Hurdles, where favourites including Gulveer Singh, Yoonus Shah, Yashas P and Vithya Ramraj comfortably advanced to the finals.
