A Sunken Garden Rediscovered | #wentworthwoodhouse |
Near the top of the West Front drive at Wentworth Woodhouse lies an area of garden that's almost unknown to our visitors. Neglected for many years, this area has recently undergone a complete transformation, as we return the sunken garden and its pond into a destination that can be shared with everyone. Throughout 2025, teams of volunteers and professional stonemasons have worked hard to recreate the beauty a forgotten gem at Wentworth Woodhouse. This project was funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, through the Survive and Thrive Programme. #wentworthwoodhouse #gardening #history #restoration #heritagecraftsmanship #volunteer #volunteering
