We begin the day in a traditional house in the Gion district, where the morning silence and its small interior garden mark the start of the day. We wander through the historic streets of Gion and Tsukimichi, among kimonos, temples, and traditional shops, before arriving at Heian Jingū Shrine, one of the city's most iconic landmarks. Later, we explore Chion-in Temple, a vast Buddhist complex where wood, gardens, and traditional architecture create an atmosphere of profound calm. It is here that the sound of the bell breaks the silence and sets the tone for the episode. We end the day in the Kiyomizu-dera area, exploring its structures and the historic streets of Sannenzaka at sunset, as the city slowly fades away.
