08 - Graphing Parabolas in Vertex Form & Shifting Horizontally and Vertically
More Lessons: http://www.MathAndScience.com Twitter: / jasongibsonmath In this lesson, we will learn how to shift a parabola in the xy plane by any arbitrary horizontal and vertical shift. The horizontal shifting is done by slightly changing the x-coordinate in the function, and the vertical shift is done by changing the y-coordinate. In this way, we can place the parabola anywhere in the xy plane by using any combination of horizontal shifts and vertical shifts.
