Make-A-Build in Stadium - Walkthrough of Powers, Perks, Builds, and More #overwatch2 #overwatch
Hey everyone, welcome back! Today, I'm doing something a little different and showing you my process for making a build and then testing and adjusting it. Many of you, including my friend Julian (shout out!), have asked about my thought process behind choosing powers and perks, and how I adapt between rounds based on cash. I've recorded this video five times due to audio and tech issues, and I just got off work, so I really appreciate any support you can show by liking and subscribing! Here's a breakdown of what we cover: • 0:00 Making a Build: Picking Powers & Vision ◦ First, your powers need to flow together and have a working chain effect. You should have a clear vision for where your build is going, like a "dynamite Ash" build. ◦ Your first power should be strong by itself and not rely on other perks or powers. For example, Discord Inferno is great to start with because it's always valuable, unlike Double Trouble, which gains more value later. We want our first power to be valuable right out of the gate. ◦ Next, you need to envision your primary damage type: are you focusing on weapon power or ability power? We have three tabs: weapon, ability, and survival. ◦ Always slot one armor perk for survivability, unless you're a tank with armor already. I tend to choose survivability all the way to league. ◦ Consider if attack speed is valuable for weapon power builds or if cooldown reduction is better for ability power builds. Our overall goal for the first three rounds is to get our primary numbers (weapon or ability power) as high as possible. ◦ Don't forget to look at character-specific perks; some are very powerful, like Junkrat's survivability perk that grants weapon and ability power. However, you need to balance these character perks with raising your overall weapon or ability power number. I've rarely seen a build succeed by running only character-specific perks. • 7:30 Testing & Adjusting Your Build ◦ Once you're playing, you need to ask yourself some critical questions to adjust your build: ▪ Am I dying too much? If so, add mitigation or survivability; there's no shame in adding two perks for this. ▪ Did all my perks get used last round? If a perk isn't providing value, consider dropping it. For instance, I dropped a Junkrat perk that increased projectile speed because I wasn't using my concussion mine much, and it was throwing off my aim. ▪ Are they mitigating your build? This is a big one. For example, when I was making an Ash weapon power build, the enemy Rine was blocking all my damage. I adjusted in the third round by switching to dynamite so I could shoot over his shield, and we won. Consider if they're cleansing your debuffs, running healing reduction, or out-healing you. These are all ways you can adjust. • 9:15 Key Takeaways & Summary ◦ In summary, your first power should be strong alone, and all your powers should flow together with a clear vision. ◦ Decide between weapon power or ability power, and consider attack speed or cooldown reduction. ◦ Always balance character-specific perks with raising your main damage number (weapon or ability power). ◦ Finally, continuously ask yourself questions during gameplay: Am I dying too much? Are my perks being used effectively? And are they countering my build? Thanks for watching! If you made it to the end, thank you so much. I worked really hard on this.
