KOTABUMI (May 13, 2026) – The North Lampung Police Criminal Investigation Unit has successfully uncovered a suspected pornography case committed by a man with the initials AS (29), a resident of Abung Selatan District, North Lampung Regency. Head of Criminal Investigation Unit, AKP Ivan Roland Kristofel, stated on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, that the perpetrator was arrested after being proven to have recorded a woman taking a shower in her boarding room using a cell phone. The incident occurred at the An-Nur Boarding House on Jalan Lintas Sumatera, Kalibalangan Village, Abung Selatan District, on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at around 5:30 PM WIB. The perpetrator has been named a suspect for the crime of pornography as referred to in Article 407 of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code. At the beginning of the incident, the victim was bathing naked. While in the bathroom, the victim found a cell phone pointed at the bathroom vent from outside. The victim immediately screamed hysterically after realizing she was allegedly being secretly recorded. Shortly thereafter, the perpetrator contacted the victim via WhatsApp and asked her to close the ventilation hole. Suspicious, the victim then asked the boarding house owner to review CCTV footage. The investigation revealed the perpetrator climbing up and using a tool to point his cellphone at the bathroom ventilation hole and recording the victim while she was showering. The suspect also admitted to having previously recorded the victim in the same location. After being apprehended by the victim's family and the boarding house owner, the perpetrator was handed over to the North Lampung Police Criminal Investigation Unit. Police then questioned witnesses and gathered evidence before naming AS as a suspect. In this case, police also secured evidence in the form of the suspect's cellphone and a video recording of the victim.
