Sairam, On the sixth day of Navarathri (or Friday), as per Durga Samhita, one should worship and meditate on Jaataveda Durga. Charitre/History. There was a demon or asura called Tarakasura who was living a ferocious life and was giving lots of troubles to Devathas, human beings and all creatures on earth. He held Gods (except Trimurtis) as his slaves. Not able to withstand, the Gods had a gathering and discussed how to defeat and kill this demon. Indra requested Lord Agni to reduce the Agni fire element in the demon so that his power diminishes and we can defeat him. But since Agni felt a lack of power within him, he was sent as a messenger on behalf of all Gods where he requested Lord Shiva for a remedy. Shiva suggested to leave the Agni power in river Ganga so that the demon's power diminishes. But Agni didn't want to do that as that would negate all his powers too and hence asked for an alternative remedy. Parvathi who witnessed this conversation, came up with a remedy. She told that she will take the form of Agni and she will submerge the Agni power in river Ganga on Agni's behalf and thus the demon loses his power and can be killed. This form of Agni which Devi took is called Jaataveda Durga where she killed Tarakasura. Doing Homa or praying in front of Deepa is the best way to worship this Devi. Astrology benefits: 1. Bad thoughts and actions (like that of Tarakasura) within us (like anger, excessive desires) will be removed. 2. Shukra shanti is gained. 3. Prosperity and enjoyment 4. Loss of property and assets are avoided. Shukra graha - Indrani or Mahalakshmi adhidevathe - Indra pratyadhidevate - all shanti is gained by chanting Jaataveda Durga during Navarathri (6th day) or on Fridays. Karma siddhanta: 1. In previous birth if we have polluted food with false chemicals or adding mud, small stones to grains/food items and earned money, then in present birth one has to beg for food. 2. In previous birth, at a restaurant/hotel/tiffin room if one eats by stealing dishes, serving yesterday's food or supplying food that spoils someone's health will result in the same type of janma. 3. Makeup items stolen in previous birth will get a birth where he/she has to sell the same makeup items on the road with a cart. 4. Being an artist if someone has not done justice to the art or has not taught the art well or has done any kind of partiality, such a person takes birth as an Ajnaani. 5. If any illegal sex activities are done, then present birth one will suffer from sexual problems or will take birth as an eunuch. Worshipping Jaataveda Durga is the remedy for such doshas. Medical Astrology: 1. AIDS, impotency, pregnancy problems, cervix cancer and sexual problems are resolved and one gains mental peace. 2. Vitamin E deficiency is removed which cures any nervous deficiency. So no need to take medicines for Vit E, instead chant this mantra. Vastu benefits: 1. Shukra stays in the East direction. If the door is in the South or West, then one will suffer from sexual problems and marital problems. Hence sunlight should enter through the door (in the East) inside the house. By chanting this mantra, any such vastu doshas are removed. 2. Infections, virus, polluted air etc are driven out of the home due to the Agni tatwa in sunlight coming from East or by chanting the Jaataveda Durga mantra. As per Shree sookta, Agni is the bodyguard of Lakshmi and if annadaana, deeparadhane, agni tatwa is in the house, then Lakshmi (prosperity) is present eternally. Mudra: Haakini or Mahakali Direction East Mantra: OM NAMO BHAVATHEE TARAKAASURA SAMHAARINI AGNI SWAROOPINI AGNI TEJASWINI OM RAM DUM JAATAVEDA DURGAYAI SWAAHAA Tantra: 1. Take Nishtaava dhaanya or Avarekaayi (about 1kg) in a plate. 2. Chant the above mantra for 21 times by holding the plate. 3. Give the dhaanya to the needy and the poor. or Give food to Gomata or Give sweet, fruit and flowers to person having only one eye. or Prepare rice and add ghee, offer this as naivedya to the Devi during the pooja in the evening.
