Mary's House Near Ephesus/Kusadasi Turkey We wanted to show in this video what it's like on a tour getting to Mary's house from a cruise ship since most people will probably get to Kusadasi via ship. Our port of call is the seaside resort town of Kusadasi Turkey which is best known for its proximity to the ruins of Ephesus and the little stone home where Jesus's mother spent her final years. By some accounts Mary lived to the age of 72 which was very mature in her time. If you are coming to Mary's house in hopes of seeing Jesus's old bedroom you may be disappointed. There are only two main room open to visitors. The Living room/Kitchen and small bedroom. After Jesus, Mary had 6 more children-4 boys and two girls, but there is no record of any of them visiting or living in Mary's little stone cottage. Saint Mary's house is often considered in Ephesus Turkey but it is actually a couple of miles away on a hillside among a grove of trees with its own natural spring that still runs today. When you visit Mary's House you can drink from the spring and collect holy water to take with you. As part of our tour we were given a gift bag with an Evil Eye and a little clay pot to collect some water. We decided against drinking any of the water because we were in the middle of our Mediterranean cruise and the last thing we needed was a case of Turkish Diarrhea or any other kind of bug. We had a bottled water only policy during our whole trip and it served us well. What did we do with the water? It didn't go to waste. We gave it to our cats who slurped it right up.
